Made this Beef Hand Pie for breakfast today as I still have the frozen leftover stuffing from the beef-stuffed peppers I made recently. Using 2 pieces of store bought square pastry dough, I sandwich the stuffing and a slice of cheddar cheese. Fancied it a bit by making a lattice pattern for the top. I don’t have a Lattice Roller so I scored my pastry manually, forming the exact lines that the roller makes. Looks more rustic and homemade. Then I brushed on some egg wash and baked it until it’s golden brown for 15-20 minutes in a 200C preheated oven. Yummy breakfast ready in no time.

These look delicious! Like a meaty american version of the french chasson. Or a classy hotpocket. Nicely done!
Thanks! i guess we could really make any pie fancy with the lattice roller thingy right?;)
How pretty – who needs a lattice roller when you can do this kind of fancy-schmancy thing with a knife?
Cute little blog you’ve got here. Saw you on TasteSpotting and you’re bookmarked!

Yum! Perfect breakfast for a cold Alaska morning. Will try them with moose.
How do you manually make the lattice design?? I’m new to this
I’ve shared an illustration for reference.
